Stacks of DMANH+ – scaffolding for ribbon shaped Cl bridged oxonium ions

Abstract

We present a series of four new structures of hydrated 1,8-bis(dimethylamino)-naphthalene hydrochlorides containing unique infinite chains of hydrated Cl ions which form 1-D ribbon moieties passing through the crystal lattice in space created between stacks of DMANH+ cations.
