Chemoselective derivatization of alkaloids in periwinkle

Abstract

The terpene indole alkaloidbiosynthetic pathway can utilize a secologanin substrate analog containing a handle for functionalization, and the resulting non-natural alkaloids can be chemoselectively derivatized in crude extracts of plant tissue.
