5  Marine natural products

Abstract

This review covers the literature on marine natural products published in 2004. As the number of newly isolated marine natural products continues to increase, this report concentrates on a small part of the literature that involves unusual structural types and interesting biological activities. The review is organized similarly to the previous report, with natural products grouped loosely under their biogenetic origins of polyketides, terpenoids, alkaloids and peptides.
