27  Radiochemistry and radiopharmaceuticals

Abstract

The radiochemistry section of Annual Reports has, this year, been expanded to include a review of recent progress in the use of radiochemical procedures for imaging in nuclear medicine. The usual fields will also be considered: isotopes, their production and purification, the preparation of labelled molecules and environmental aspects of radiochemistry. The following topics are excluded: radiation chemistry (except as it impinges on the stability of labelled molecules), the general chemistry of elements that happen to be radioactive, the use of radioisotopes as tracers and nuclear activation analysis.
