A two-dimensional azido-based topologic ferrimagnet

Abstract

The reported MnII–azide system is the first example of a two-dimensional homometallic ferrimagnet, in which the magnetic properties are due exclusively to topological reasons related with the coordination mode of the bridging ligands; it is also the first case in which a system of this kind exhibits long range order comparable to the classical heterospin ferrimagnets.
