Polymorphs of 4′-(hex-5-ynyloxy)-2,2′:6′,2″-terpyridine: structural diversity arising from weak intermolecular interactions in the solid state

Abstract

Changing the conditions under which 4′-(hex-5-ynyloxy)-2,2′:6′,2″-terpyridine crystallises results in solvent-free crystals in which dimeric motifs supported by C[triple bond, length as m-dash]CH⋯Npyridine hydrogen-bonded interactions assemble into two different 3D solid state structures.
