Reactivity of 1-hydroxyalkyl radicals in the reduction of Hg2+ and I2 in aqueous solutions

Abstract

The kinetics and mechanism of reduction of Hg2+ ions and I2 molecules with ·CH2OH, Me·CHOH and Me2·COH radicals were proposed based on a pulse radiolysis study.
