We report a simple, one step and efficient method to deposit Si nanoparticles on the surface of in situ formed carbon spheres. This report emphasizes Si deposition on carbon spheres from the thermal decomposition of TEOS at 700 °C in a closed Swagelok cell in an inert atmosphere.
