Arrested chloride abstraction from trans-RuCl2(DMeOPrPE)2 with TlPF6; formation of a 1-D coordination polymer having unusual octahedral coordination around thallium(i)

Abstract

An “arrested” chloride abstraction occurs in the reaction of trans-RuCl2(DMeOPrPE)2 with TlPF6; the product is a 1-D coordination polymer in which the Tl(I) centers have an unusual octahedral coordination geometry with a stereochemically active 6s2 lone pair.
