Abstract

Organometallic chemistry reported in 2003 again demonstrated the breadth of interest and application of this core chemical field. Significant discoveries and developments were reported particularly in the application and understanding of organometallic compounds in catalysis. Highlights include the continued development of catalytic reactions incorporating C–H activation processes, the demonstration of inverted electronic dependence in ligand substitution of palladium(0), and the synthesis of the first early-transition metal perfluoroalkyl complexes.
