Synthesis and properties of 1-aminocyclopropane-1,2-dicarboxylic acid and compounds incorporating it

Abstract

Methods for the synthesis of 1-aminocyclopropane-1,2-dicarboxylic acid derivatives including carbo- and heterocyclic compounds and peptides are analysed. Special attention is given to methods for the synthesis of individual stereoisomers of 1-aminocyclopropane-1,2-dicarboxylic acid derivatives based on the use of diastereoselective processes or enantiomerically pure starting compounds. The transformations of 1-aminocyclopropane-1,2-dicarboxylic acid derivatives which yield compounds with potential biological activities are considered. The bibliography includes 87 references.
