3 Transition metals in organic synthesis
Part (ii) Stoichiometric applications
Abstract
Stoichiometric transition metals are routinely employed in organic synthesis and important new transformations continue to be discovered. A selection of the transition metal mediated reactions from the chemical literature of 2002 are reviewed. Some reactions also involve transition metal catalysis in addition to the stoichiometric metal component. In all cases, the reactions are organised by transition metal group of the stoichiometric component with some further subdivisions by reaction class or intermediates. The subdivision of material is in common with previous reviews.
