Abstract
In order to synthesize a peripherally rigid dendritic donor–acceptor dyad for energy transfer studies, a tritolan dendron based on a tetraphenylmethane scaffold was prepared from New Fuchsin. The dendron showed a small degree of homoconjugation but a large hypochromic effect.
