Abstract

A mild solution method was developed to grow single crystals of CoMoO4-II. The structure was solved by single crystal X-ray diffraction [P2/c, a = 4.6598(7) Å, b = 5.6862(9) Å, c = 4.9159(7) Å, β = 90.521(3)°, V = 130.25(3) Å3] from 349 unique reflections [I ≥ 2σ(I)], R1 = 0.0270 and wR2 = 0.066. CoMoO4-II was characterised by scanning electron microscopy and its magnetic properties investigated.
