Abstract

The calixarenes tert-butylcalix[6]arene (H6L) and tert-butylcalix[8]arene (H8L′) on treatment with [V(NBut)(OBut)3] and [V(Ntolyl-p)(OBut)3] respectively afford the novel metallocalix[6] and [8]arenes [{V(NBut)(thf )0.39(ButOH)0.61}{VO(μ-O)}2L][ButNH3] (1) and [V2(NR′)2(H2L′)] (2).
