Reaction of [(PPh3)3RuCl2] with white phosphorus: synthesis of the first RuII complex featuring a tetrahedro-tetraphosphorus ligand

Abstract

The title reaction affords slightly air- and light-sensitive [(PPh3)2ClRu(µ-Cl)3Ru(PPh3)21-P4)], which belongs to a very rare family of soluble tetrahedro-tetraphosphorus complexes and represents the first ruthenium species of this type.
