Concentration fluctuations and nonlinear nonequilibrium thermodynamics

Abstract

The multivariate master equation for a one-step reaction is transformed into a univariate master equation for the density of fluctuation in extent of the reaction. The density of variance of the fluctuation is incorporated into ordinary nonequilibrium thermodynamics of chemical reactions. This makes it possible to formulate a new type of Markov fluctuation–dissipation relations of nonlinear nonequilibrium thermodynamics.
