Photolysis of perfluoroazooctane in an argon matrix

Abstract

The photodissociation mechanism of perfluoroazooctane was investigated using a matrix isolation technique on the basis of IR and EPR spectra and MO calculation. The detection and identification of perfluorooctyl diazenyl radical show that it is a feasible photolytic intermediate of the decomposition of perfluoroazooctane.
