Abstract

The chelate iron(allyloxy)carbene complexes [Fe(C₅H₅)(CO){η³-C(OCHR¹ CHCR²R³)(C₆H₄- o-Cl)}][BF₄] (2a-e) yield in the presence of [nBu₄N][I] the corresponding β,γ-unsaturated ketones R³R²CCHCHR¹C(O)(C₆H ₄-o-Cl) (3); this reaction proceeds with high regioselectivity without rearrangement of the allyl fragment.
