Important sedimentary sesterterpenoids from the diatom Pleurosigma intermedium

Abstract

The new sesterterpenoids (5E,8E/Z)-3,9,13-trimethyl-6-(1,5-dimethylhex-4-enyl)tet radeca-1,5,8,12-tetraene have been isolated from the diatom Pleurosigma intermedium and characterised structurally by NMR spectroscopy.
