Synthesis of mono- and di-nuclear palladium diselenolenes from bis(cycloalkeno)-1,4-diselenins: X-ray crystal structure of [Pd(C7H10Se2)(PBu3)2]
Abstract
The reaction between [Pd2(dba)3] (dba=dibenzylideneacetone), tributylphosphine, and a bis(cycloalkeno)-1,4-diseleninleads to either a mononuclear [Pd{SeC(R1)2 C(R2)Se}(PBu3)2], or a dinuclear [Pd2{SeC(R1)2 C(R2)Se}2(PBu3)2] diselenolene (R1–R2=(CH2) n ; n =4, 5,6) depending on the stoichiometry employed; the structure of the monomeric product with n =5 has been determined by X-ray crystallography.
