Schiff-base chemistry of niobium: unexpected products of radical elimination and diastereoselective addition
Abstract
The two main products from the reaction of a chiral Schiff-base proligand H2L with [NbIV(NEt2)4] are the amidoimido species [LNbV(NEt)(NEt2)] and the highly unusual [L′NbV(NEt2)2] in which a 1-ethylaminoethyl radical has undergone highly diastereoselective addition to one of the coordinated imine groups.
