Development of a method for the determination of phosphorus in copper alloys using radiofrequency glow discharge optical emission spectrometry

Abstract

A method for the determination of P in Cu alloys using radiofrequency glow discharge optical emission spectrometry is developed and demonstrated. The results indicate that the method is capable of reliable determinations. The 95% confidence interval for the limit of detection (LOD) is found to be 1.6±0.4 mg kg–1. This LOD is competitive with those provided by commonly employed analytical methodologies.
