Properties of 1-1 electrolytes solutions in ethylene glycol at temperatures from 5 to 175°C Part 1Conductance measurements and experimental data treatment

Abstract

Conductance data are reported for LiCl, NaCl, KCl, RbCl, CsCl, Me4NCl, Et4NCl, Bu4NCl, NaF, NaBr and NaBPh4 in ethylene glycol with molarity 1×10-4–1×10-2 mol dm-3 over the temperature range 5–175°C. Different variants of conductance data processing are discussed, taking into account the weak association of the investigated 1-1 electrolytes in ethylene glycol. The advantage of using the Lee–Wheaton equation and the so-called ‘consistent’ approach is demonstrated.
