Divergent assembly of a starburst tetracosacobalt compound

Abstract

The syntheses of C[{p-C6H4C[triple bond, length half m-dash]C}nH]4 (n = 1 ,2 ,3) and their reactions with Co2(CO)8 have led to the formation of starburst molecules with rigid, cluster-containing arms; up to twelve cluster units have been incorporated.
