A novel, internally-solvated phosphinomethanide; crystal structure of Li[C(SiMe3)2{P(C6H4CH2NMe2-2)2}]

Abstract

Metallation of P{CH(SiMe3)2}(C6H4CH2NMe2-2)2 with BunLi yields a novel lithium phosphinomethanide in which the ligand exhibits an unprecedented tridentate PN2 coordination mode and in which there are no short contacts between lithium and the planar carbanion centre.
