The measurement of tritium in steel
Abstract
A new method for the measurement of tritium in steel is described. The method is based on the dissolution of steel in sodium persulfate (peroxodisulfate) solution, distillation of the resulting solution and measurement of tritium in the distillate by liquid scintillation counting. The method is relatively simple and is capable of reliable determination of tritium in plain carbon steel and 2.25% Cr, 1% Mo steel at levels below 0.1 Bq gā1.
