[(silox)2ReO]2 (silox = tBu3SiO) contains a Re[triple bond, length half m-dash]Re bond and terminal oxo ligands

Abstract

The preference for terminal rather than bridging {i.e. [(silox)2Re]2(µ-O)2} oxo ligands in C2 (silox)2(O)Re[triple bond, length half m-dash]Re- (O)(silox)2 is electronic, not steric, in origin.
