Change in the conductivity of single naked metallic clusters by ligation

Abstract

It is shown by scanning tunnelling microscopy current-voltage measurements that the ligation of Agn-clusters by excess (PPh3) produces a tunnel system based on the resulting Agn( PPh3)m clusters in which correlated single-electron tunnelling can be realized.
