Quantitative transfer of a methyl group from a methyl(hydrido)iridium complex to SiRH3 (R = n-butyl, pentyl or hexyl) to give SiR(Me)H2 and a dihydridoiridium complex
Abstract
Thermal reaction of [Ir(Me)(H){η2-Me2Si(CH2)2PPh2}(PMe3)2] with SiRH3 (R = n-butyl, pentyl or hexyl) resulted in silicon–carbon bond formation to give SiR(Me)H2 and [IrH2{η2-Me2Si(CH2)2PPh2}(PMe3)2]. Isolation of Si(n-C6H13)MeH2 was achieved by preparative gas chromatography.
