First observation of non-bridging thiolates or tetrahedral geometries within thiolate-containing Schiff-base macrocycles: [Zn2L][CF3SO3]2

Abstract

The structure determination of [Zn2L][CF3SO3]2 1 reveals the first example of non-bridging thiolates within a thiolate-containing Schiff-base macrocyclic complex: the flexibility of such macrocycles is also clearly demonstrated as this is the first example of the provision of distorted tetrahedral metal ion binding sites.
