Uracil quartet formation through non-covalent interaction with a neutral metal ammine complex

Abstract

Cocrystallization of 1-methyluracil (Hmura) and trans[PtCl 4 (NH 3 ) 2 ] yields an adduct of composition [PtCl 4 (NH 3 ) 2 ·2 Hmura with two types of uracil quartets, one of which is relevant to that formed in tetraplex RNA.
