[H3N(CH2)3NH3]Fe2 O(PO4)2: a novel layered iron phosphate containing tetramers of FeO5 trigonal bipyramids

Abstract

The synthesis and characterization of a layered iron phosphate is described; the structure consists of novel Fe 4 O 16 clusters formed of four FeO 5 trigonal bipyramids, which are linked into two-dimensional sheets through phosphate tetrahedra with propanediammonium cations between the sheets.
