Abstract

Photoreaction between [NbI(CO)2(PMe2Ph)2(Ph2PC[triple bond, length half m-dash]CPPh2)](with the side-on coordinated alkyne acting as a four-electron donor) and [Mo(CO)6] yields the C–C coupling product [{Mo(CO)4}2{µ-(Ph2P)2C[double bond, length half m-dash]CHCH[double bond, length half m-dash]C(PPh2)2}], where the ligand coordinates end-on through the four phosphine functions.
