Crystal structures of U2V2O11 and UV2O8

Abstract

The crystal structures of U2V2O11 and UV2O8 have been determined using single-crystal X-ray and powder neutron diffraction. For U2V2O11, space group P21/n, a= 6.644(1)Å, b= 13.184(1)Å, c= 5.657(1)Å and β= 107.88(1)°, V= 471.59 Å3, Z= 2. For UV2O8, space group Pnma, a= 5.726(1)Å, b= 11.932(1)Å and c= 10.499(1)Å, V= 717.32 Å3, Z= 4. The structures are discussed in terms of linkages between UO7 and VO4 polyhedra.
