Preferential solvation in mixed solvents. Part 7.—Binary mixtures of water and alkanolamines
Abstract
The inverse Kirkwood–Buff integral method is applied to mixtures of water with ethanolamine, diethanolamine and triethanolamine at 0, 25 and 40 °C. Preferential solvation in these systems is deduced from these integrals and shown over the entire composition range for the 0 °C data, and the trends at higher temperatures are discussed. In these systems the mutual interactions of the components are stronger than the self-interactions.
