Dalton communications. Conformational control in PtS2(PR2)2N metallacycles via ligand-substituent effects (R = Ph or OPh)
Abstract
Two complexes containing the PtS2(PR2)2N ring [Pt{R′2P(S)NP(S)R′2}(PR3)2]PF6(R = Et, R′= Ph; R = Me, R′= OPh), have been synthesised and structurally characterised: changing R from Ph to OPh has a dramatic effect on the ring conformation; whereas a complex with R = Ph has a puckered ring, for R = OPh the S–P–N–P–S portion of the ring is flat.
