Abstract
Reaction of [Os3H2(CO)10] with Hg(CCPh)2 afforded the novel mixed-metal clusters cis-[Os(CO)4{(µ-Hg)Os3(CO)10(µ-η2-CHCHPh)}2]1 and [{Os3(CO)10(µ-η2-CHCHPh)}2(µ4-Hg)]2 in moderate yield, the crystal structures of which have been determined; 1 converts into 2via Hg–Os bond cleavage under ambient conditions.
