Syntheses of tetranuclear tungsten sulfide clusters with raft-type and tetrahedral core structures
Abstract
Reaction of [W(N2)2(PMe2Ph)4] with (Me3Si)2S–MeOH gives a raft-type tetratungsten sulfide cluster [W4(µ3-S)4(SH)2(PMe2Ph)6]2, which is converted to a tetrahedral cluster [W4(µ-S)6(PMe2Ph)4]5 upon treatment with SnCl2 followed by reduction with Na/Hg; the molecular structures of 2 and 5 are determined by X-ray crystallography.
