Evidence for a template effect in control of organic-inorganic hybrid solid formation by intermolecular interactions
Abstract
Very fast gelation was observed in the sol–gel polycondensation of olefinic trialkoxysilanes when performed in the presence of catalytic amounts of palladium complexes. The palladium activation is proposed as proceeding by a template effect; the condensation occurred in an intramolecular manner within the coordination sphere of the metal.
