Abstract

A novel luminescent organometallic ruthenium(II)/platinum(II) binuclear complex, [Ru(bpy)2(µ-2,3-dpp)PtMe2]2+1 and its ruthenium(II)/dichloro-platinum(II) and palladium(II) analogues, [Ru(bpy)2(µ-2,3-dpp)PtCl2]2+2 and [Ru(bpy)2(µ-2,3-dpp)PdCl2]2+3 exhibit red 3MLCT emission at room temperature; the X-ray crystal structure of complex 2[2,3-dpp = 2,3-bis(2-pyridyl)pyrazine] is reported.
