Atom concentrator tube–flame atomic absorption spectrometry for organic solutions of metals
Abstract
A quartz ‘atom concentrator tube’ has been introduced into an ordinary atomic absorption burner head in order to enhance the sensitivity and detection limits for metal complexes of Pb, Cu, Ag, Fe and Ni contained within an organic liquid phase. The results of the experiments compared with those obtained without using the tube showed that the use of an atom concentration tube should be applicable also to organic solutions of metals obtained, for instance, after extraction of aqueous samples.
