Dalton communications. Some unusual gold– and rhodium–rhenium clusters
Abstract
The isomeric complexes [AuRe2(µ-dppm)(µ-C2Ph)(CO)6(PPh3)][dppm = bis(diphenylphosphino)methane] and [Re2(µ-H){µ-(PPh2)2CH[Au(PPh3)]}(µ-C2Ph)(CO)6] have been obtained form [Re2(µ-H)(µ-dppm)(µ-C2Ph)(CO)6] and [AuMe(PPh3)], or from LiMe and [AuCl(PPh3)] or [{Au(PPh3)}3O]+, respectively; extension of the latter reaction to [{Rh(µ-Cl)(cod)}2](cod = cycloocta-1,5-diene) gave [Re2Rh(µ-H){µ3-(PPh2)2CH}(µ-C2Ph)(CO)6(cod)] in which the Re2Rh cluster is capped by the five-electron donor (PPh2)2CH.
