Syntheses and X-ray crystal structures of the adamantanoparacyclophane 1 and the adamantanopyridinophane2, as well as 1H NMR absorption at extremely high field (δ–4.08), unusual conformational behaviourand dienophile addition to the benzene ring of 1are reported.
