Mechanism of co-methylation of co corrinoids in the presence of thiols

Abstract

The Co atom in CoII cobinamide is methylated by Mel in the presence of thiols (RSH) such as dithiothreitol in aqueous solution at 25 °C by a pH-independent pathway involving the reaction of Mel with the [RSHo–CoII] complex.
