Formation of porous metal oxides via sol–gel type hydrolysis of metal alkoxide complexes modified with organic templates
Abstract
Hybrid organic/inorganic network polymers were formed via the reaction of polyacrylic acid (Mw= 2000 u) with tin(IV), titanium(IV) and silicon(IV) alkoxides and subsequent hydrolysis to form mesoporous materials. The polyacrylate template was removed by subsequent treatment with nitric acid to produce microporous inorganic hydrous metal oxides.
