New polyoxyethylene intercalation materials in vanadium oxide xerogel
Abstract
V2O5[(CH2CH2O)n]x, compounds have been synthesized by intercalation of crown ethers in V2O5·1.5H2O from water/solvent media. Higher-molecular-weight polyoxyethylene compounds such as poly(ethylene glycol)(PEG) and poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO) can also be intercalated following this procedure. Some details of the characterization and electrical properties of the intercalated compounds are described.
