Preparation and X-ray characterisation of the first heteroleptic hydrocarbon-soluble tin(II) pseudohalide, Sn(NCS)[N(SiMe3)2]
Abstract
Treatment of equivalent portions of Sn(NCS)2 and Sn(NR2)2(R = SiMe3) in Et2O yielded the toluene-soluble, crystalline, colourless Sn(NCS)(NR2), which X-ray crystallography shows to be a V-shaped monomer [N–Sn–N 94.1(2), Sn–N–CS 171.0(5)°] with weak intermolecular bonding to neighbouring units [Sn ⋯ S′ 3.047(2) and Sn ⋯ S″ 3.316(2)Å; S′⋯ Sn ⋯ S″ 178.4(1)°].
