Significant effect of carbonate addition on stoichiometric photodecomposition of liquid water into hydrogen and oxygen from platinum–titanium(IV) oxide suspension

Abstract

The addition of carbonate into a Pt-loaded TiO2 suspension leads to the highly efficient photocatalytic decomposition of liquid water into H2 and O2 stoichiometrically.
