Effect of nickel oxide on the sintering characteristics and phase stability of zirconia–12 mol% ceria ceramics

Abstract

The addition of ≤ 0.5 mol% nickel oxide to zirconia-12 mol% ceria powders is shown to enhance densification and promote the retention of the metastable tetragonal phase to room temperature.
